LALALALALALA. Someone is annoying me by making me blog. I haven’t been blogging much lately because school is stressing me out and the only other thing I feel like blogging about is Yu-Gi-Oh which is probably rather sad so I’m refraining myself from doing so. Now that I’ve posted this, I have the right to not blog for another three days which is what my normal period of blog entry absence is.

I Can’t Stand it Anymore

There are some things in life that I just can’t stand. Usually I point it out to whomever executes these actions but sometimes I feel I just can’t tell them. This blog entry will list some things that come to mind.

  • Calling an iPod touch an iTouch – NOOO. That’s just wrong. Also, note the lower case of the “t” in touch. Just to be more specific an iTouch is actually a DS flashcart though, they’re usually referred to as iTouchDS and iTouch2 with the latter being a newer model of the former.
  • Using the following if you’re a guy: ;D ;( – These two pseudo-smilies are simply unmanly in my book. If you use them, you’ll always be a homosexual in my eyes.
  • Use “XD” – This is another pseudo-smilie that I hate.
  • Adding an “s” to the end of undeserving words (e.g. hahas) – Okay, there are several guys I know who constantly using these. I’m sorry but like the above one, you make me see you as a homosexual. If you do both then I absolutely detest you.
  • Using improper spelling, grammar and punctuation – Just… no. Don’t do it. Just because it’s the internet doesn’t mean you’re allowed to type like a retard.
  • Using full stops (or periods) at the end of titles – They just don’t go there. Don’t do it.

Well that’s it for this blog entry. I have a feeling I might be doing another one of these in the future.

Me and Emulation

So after I softmodded my XBox yesterday, I’ve been trying to get into “emulation.” This isn’t the first time I’ve tried but having a gaming device that’s renowned for its emulation capabilities is just too hard to ignore. I downloaded several emulators as well as some games that correspond to the system that the emulators… emulate. I just can’t get into it.

The game I’ll try to play is Earthbound. This is my third attempt at playing Earthbound with my first on the DS which worked like crap then with my second on the Wii which actually worked pretty well before I got bored. I have to say that the emulation of the game on the XBox is rather impressive but I simply can’t get into it.

I’m not entirely sure whether it’s because I don’t like this genre of games or not because I actually played through a lot of Mother 3 (the sequel to Earthbound) before quitting due to a loss of the save data. It’s also possible that I simply don’t like playing old games.

I’ll probably give Earthbound another go before I sleep or when I wake up in the morning.

Ever lied before?

So it’s the school holidays and I’m currently trying to enjoy the most of it by going back to the PokeCommunity Forums. What do I find as soon as I return? Some ridiculous question as quoted in the title. I won’t link to it specifically but I’m sure anyone who’s interested can find it.

So after a page of another member and I ridiculing the topic, a moderator comes in to stop the potential flame war that may have resulted if it had continued any longer. She comes in and tells us how illiterate we are by not thinking about the topic and giving constructive responses. I guess I’m too illiterate then. The topic clearly breaks a forum rule though.

Name your threads relevantly
Thread titles (the name of your poll :P ) should give a good idea of what the poll is about, and what’s in the thread. If you’re starting a thread about favorite foods, you wouldn’t want to name it “OLD PEOPLE SMELL LIKE COTTAGE CHEESE ON THE SIXTH OF MAY!” (thanks Dz).. you get the idea. Thread titles that aren’t accurate will be changed.

Is the thread title relevant? NO! When I go into a thread, I expect to discuss what had led me there in the first place. I refuse to back down just because of a misleading topic name.

Normally, I have a lot of respect for this moderator but I just can’t bring it to myself to side with her because clearly, anyone with a brain would realise that we would not have started the ridiculing if the thread creator had not chosen such a pathetic topic name.

After seeing the moderator’s reply, I really felt like responding by creating a thread called “Ever breathed before?” even if it meant receiving an infraction. For now, I’m holding back my urges to do so.

WTF? Stupid DX

So right now, I received the DSi pouch I ordered to replace the one I’d lost a while ago. I was very happy until I pulled it out and noticed a massive fault that my previous one didn’t have. THIS POUCH WAS DESIGNED FOR LEFT-HANDED PEOPLE! WTF! Don’t know what I mean? Take a look  at this photo.

Fail Pouch

Fail Pouch

How fail is that? If the indentation is the right way up, the DSi has to be inserted from the left-hand side. This is a serious issue for people with OCD like me. =\

Anti-anti-DS

Warning: There may be some explicit language in this blog entry.

Okay, I’m really starting to get sick of all you people out there who seem to think using a DS in public makes you a loser. I have several points to prove that it doesn’t, or shouldn’t anyway if you all just wouldn’t automatically assume that it does.

  1. A DS is like an iPod Touch. You might find this statement slightly controversial but it’s true. You see people using them in public all the time right? Why not be against them too? A DS has very similar functions to an iPod Touch (and to a slightly lesser extent, an iPhone). With a DS, you can play games, music, videos etc. using a flashcart. You might say that a DS is simply a game-oriented iPod.
  2. I’m beginning to wonder if you people understand the meaning of portable. Well here’s a definition: easily or conveniently transported. So what’s a portable handheld? “A handheld game console is a lightweight, portable device with a built-in screen, games controls and speakers. Handheld game consoles are run on machines of small size allowing people to carry them and play them at any time or place.”The DS is just this. I’m happy to take my DS in public because it’s fun to play when I’m bored.
  3. The DS has shitty games you might say? I actually agree with this to a certain extent. Yes, the DS has shitty games but that’s because it has so many games made for it because of its popularity that it’s bound to have shitty games. There are also many fun and amazing games too. Many people ask me if they can borrow my DS to play a simple game like Mario Kart DS when they’re bored and I’m not using my DS even if they are against the DS every other minute of their life. Some of you actually define a shitty game based on the genre. If it isn’t as hardcore and violent as those games you play on PC at home such as WoW, CoD and CS then you automatically assume it must be shitty.
  4. The DS has shitty graphics? It can’t compare with the PSP (which is frowned upon slightly less at my school)! Oh no! The graphics on a DS sucks. Well, I don’t play games for graphics. Pokemon is certainly not the most graphical game in  the world but it’s just so fun because of the game mechanics because it just works. Pokemon is not just for little children. People only assume it’s for little children because of the stupid anime, which IS targeted at little children. I don’t need graphics to have fun.
  5. Pretty much everyone in Japan has a DS. That’s right. Entire families own at least one DS, So what is Japan? A country full of losers? No.

KFC Employees are stupid

My dad came home just now with my favourite meal from KFC; All-Stars Box. Since almost the first time I’ve bought it, I’ve ALWAYS checked for anything missing because the meal has so many different things. It includes an original recipe piece of chicken, two Wicked Wings, 1 crispy strip, 1 snack sized Popcorn Chicken, chips, Potato & Gravy, a Dinner Roll and a drink. See? Even I remembered the whole meal off by heart. >.>

So anyway, the meal that my dad brought home just now has no chips. >=(

STUPID KFC EMPLOYEE.

Several weeks ago, my friends and I went ice skating and a movie and one of my friends was missing his Popcorn Chicken from the same meal.

I woke up this morning, hopped over to The PokéCommunity Forums
to find the New Posts link in the navigation bar removed and placed under the Search dropdown menu. Naturally I posted a thread inquiring about the matter and a discussion soon heated up. With the help of Forever and several other members it seems the staff were nice enough to add it back to the way it was before.

One thing’s for sure though: “PC’s members are way, way lazier than I ever imagined.”

I was watching the visual introduction video of Wordpress 2.7 here and I’ve finally cracked. At the start of the video, the narrator says “this winter”.  Do people in the northern hemisphere not realise that people in the southern hemisphere use Wordpress as well? It’s not only on Wordpress that the southerm hemisphere seems to be excluded from.

On the PokeCommunity forums, a place I visit quite often, there are often topics such as “what did you did in your summer holidays?” when it isn’t summer where I live and other similar ones. Yes, the biggest percentage of users come from North America but the percentage of people from the south is very large too as far as I can tell from visiting the forums for over 4 years now. I’ve seriously had enough of the exclusion of the southern hemisphere from them so every time I see one targeted at all you people in the north, I’ll be making one specifically for people in the south.

Yes I may be overreacting but it’s something I’ve noticed my whole life and I’m just finding it really annoying to deal with.

Walking Slowly

Is it just me or does everyone in the world walk really slowly? Whenever I’m walking, I always become frustrated because the person in front of my is walking really slowly. It’s as if I’m walking 1.5 the speed of them.
