It’s been a long time since I last posted about a Facebook application. I’ve recently started to become interested in Facebook and part of the reason for it is because of this application. Mafia Wars is a game where you compete with other mafias to become the strongest possible. You earn money by doing jobs, fighting other players and simply just owning property.

There is a small flaw to the game though. Like real life mafias, gangs, mobs etc., the game relies on having many mafia members in order to succeed. My mafia size is relatively small which means I can expect to wake up in the morning to find my buildings pretty heavily damaged. Players pick on the weak just like in the real world and unfortunately, I am the latter. =\

I’m actually thinking about quitting it because of its speed. It used to be able to attack quickly but not it’s more like Paralyze, Predict One’s Death, Mind Shout, Mind Shout, laaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaag, Mind Shout, Mind Shout, laaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaag, Mind Shout, laaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaag, Paralyze, Mind Shout, Mind Shout etc.

I just find it stupid how the lag is making my Paralyze less useful since I actually have to reuse it.

A farmer in Odessa was experimenting with a new ability of theirs which caused contained nuclear reactions to take place. He started by creating small explosions until all of a sudden, he lost control and created a 500 mile wide nuclear bomb! Fortunately, heroes from around the world with the teleportation ability were able to teleport everyone to New York in time without a scratch. Group headquarters in Odessa have been moved to New York.

Do you know what I’d to say to that? I’d honestly like to kill that farmer if I do ever meet him because it’s put my hero in such a bad position. I can’t get as many knock outs as I could before. :\

I’m currently addicted to FFA and I’ve actually gotten some nice KOs. I’ve knocked out two level 60s and almost a 3rd but he only just got away with 80 HP because I ran out of EP. I tried to finish him off with punches but I noticed he started to attack me back so I left and was unable to finish.

3/18/08:

1) Added Toronto.

2) Find the secret underground lab for a cool new feature.

3) Raised max HP across the board.

4) Changed the app header.

I’m proud to say that I no longer have that dreaded original ability. The developers of MHA released a secret underground lab where players can spend CR in exchange for having their abilities removed. Since there’s c ahnce of failing if I didn’t have Precognition, I went ahead and bought it. I then used the AP I received from losing MM on Telepathy then  Mind Shout which I levelled to 9.

Believe it or not but since yesterday I have been working on a new website. It’s basically an information website for MHA. I’ve finished the layout except the banner which is going to be made by BluePhoenix. Pages are being added as often as I can manage.

My group and their group merged and we are now called Phoenix Reborn! It’s pretty awesome.

There’s a really big problem though. I can’t seem to access the forums through the main domain. :\

I’ve set up forums, powered by MyBB, at a location only known to PI members and also an IRC channel that is exclusive to our players only. I doubt it’ll be active any time soon but when the group becomes bigger, hopefully more people will use it.
